The Association of Musical Initiation for Deprived Children - AIM is a nonprofit institution dedicated to promoting projects in music initiation and education for excluded children and adolescents economically disadvantage. Founded by serious music enthusiasts, the AIM takes advantage of the music environment to offer to members of such communities a possibility for integration in society by enhancing their self-esteem and through the discovery and development of personal skills and abilities directly or indirectly related to the musical activity, thus stimulating the equality of opportunity between individuals. Further aware that the benefits of music initiation and education go far beyond their intrinsic value, the AIM also seeks to orientate the general public about the importance of such education and the highly positive effects thereof, from the attended children and adolescents’ both a professional and personal standpoint. |
